About Amla:

Amla is also known as Indian gooseberry or Phyllanthus emblica, which have been used in traditional Ayurvedic Indian medicine for thousands of years.  Looking at the cultural and religious significance and beliefs, Amla is said to have originated from the drop of Amrit (Nectar).  And hence also religious belief makes claims that it almost cures every disease and is also good in extending the longevity of life.
